K21 Infantry Fighting Vehicle
Armed with a 40 mm main gun, the K21 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) has the firepower that can destroy enemy tanks as well as armored vehicles. Along with its tank-level field mobility, the K21 IFV is equipped with air bags for floating used for amphibious missions.
Specifically, its survivability is maximized by using the state-of-the-art technologies such as identification of friend or foe (IFF) system, enemy warning system, and NBC system, and its function of interlinking with the inter-vehicular information system and the ground tactical C4I system. It also enables multidimensional joint combat in the network-based future battlefield environments.
The K21 IFV, currently in service as an integral part of the Republic of Korea’s armor/mechanized units, is a system that can counter the threats anticipated from the surrounding countries in a the future battlefield environment.
