K200A1 Korean Infantry Fighting Vehicle(KIFV)
The K200A1 is an upgraded version of the K200 KIFV which was developed independently in 1985 and is the main piece of equipment of the mechanized infantry troops of the ROK Army.
Variants of this vehicle include the K277A1 Command Post Vehicle, the K288A1 Recovery Vehicle, the K263A1 Self-Propelled Anti-Air Gun System, the K242A1 107mm Mortar Carrier, the K281A1 81mm Mortar Carrier, the K216A1 NBC Reconnaissance Vehicle, the K221 Smoke Generation Vehicle, etc.
A new 120mm Mortar Carrier is currently under development.
Export
The K200A1 was exported to Malaysia and proved its superiority at the UN Peace Keeping Operation in Bosnia. The K200A1s are still used as operational vehicles for overseas deployment troops of the Korean Army.
